Basement Bright-up with the Brick

We have officially been living in our home for seven years now which is beyond mind-blowing to me! If you have been following me for a while you will know we purchased our home after seeing it shown to us on a Facetime tour and got to see it for ourselves after purchase. What I thought was move-in ready was something completely opposite - after seven years almost every single room in our home has been given quite a facelift! We also completed our basement as one of our first projects - when I say complete I mean put walls up, floors down and ready for two boys to run around with their ride-on toys and bash up all the baseboards we decided to not even bother painting! This was a space for my out-of-town parents to stay when they could come and for our boys to grow up just being boys. The space was so minimal with a small sectional, toys and more recently my workout space.

We have recently been using the space so much, not only because this heat is driving us to the coolest areas of the house but with our boys entering an older age bracket we have been using the space less as a stomping ground and more of a family movie night space or boys video game party location! As they have gotten older their interests and the way they play has changed and we thought this would be the perfect time to upgrade the space to fit our new lifestyle. To be honest, as excited we all were to upgrade the room it was a bitter-sweet moment as a mom, leaving behind the memories and emotions of what this room was and accepting the kids are growing up way too fast! All of that said, I could not be more thrilled with the outcome!

BEFORE

We had this second-hand sectional, an overly large coffee table and nothing fit together but it served its purpose and we enjoyed the coolness of the space.

AFTER

The very first thing we did was hop in the car and make our way to the Brick to pick out the perfect sectional for the room and with the boys getting older we really wanted a larger one to fit their growing bodies throughout the years.

The sectional we chose is absolute perfection and we could not love it more. There are so many amazing things about it that make it so convenient and the perfect family option. The chaise part folds up (see below) for a full storage area where we keep all of our media items such as controllers and consoles but it is also the perfect storage area for smaller toys and blankets as well!

The two cushions in the middle fold out to create an entire full bed area which we have already used constantly! This will be such a perfect option for guests to stay or have a sleepover option for the kids. They also come in many different shapes in sizes to fit any room or space.

The material is so soft and easy to clean and with kids that is a very important feature! We have loved the sectional we purchased from the Brick seven years ago in our upstairs living room and can't wait to make all the memories with this one as well.

We’ve added some plants, baskets and blankets to really bring the whole space together and I think at least for the rest of this HOT summer we will be spending more time in this space than anywhere else.

I could not recommend the Brick more for large sectionals, I can tell you after seven years we have many more years with our two Brick sectionals. I will give you the link to this Randal sectional below!!
