Top 5 Drugstore Foundations

I am no beauty expert, nor do I love spending tons of money on expensive makeup or beauty products.  So when there are great items that I can find in drugstores that are comparable to higher-end products, I just have to share them! In this blog post I list my top 5 FAVOURITE drugstore foundations that are full coverage, great for those Instagram photos and making your complexion look flawless!  I have always suffered from very red and blotchy skin, however, I am very blessed to not have had to struggle with acne or scarring.  That being said, I love me some full coverage foundation even for everyday wear!  Although this may not be everyone's preference, if you're like me and like the full coverage look or just feel like trying some new drugstore foundations that are AMAZING, then just keep on reading! Here are my top 5 drugstore foundations:

1) Milani Conceal and Perfect 2 in 1 Foundation and Concealer

You guys. Just listen. If there were ever a time where I had to choose one face product to bring on vacation or wherever, this is it. It's not 2 in 1, its EVERYTHING. This is a newer one for me but I have not been able to use anything else since I got it. It is SO full coverage without being cakey or creasing where it shouldn't! Now I will warn you that it does oxidize a bit and gets a bit darker after applying, so choose your shade wisely.  However, once you have your shade down there are no cons to this amazing product. It is quite a dewy finish so be sure to use a setting powder after applying! Definitely my top drugstore foundation choice hands down! I am in colour 03 Light Beige.

2) L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation

This foundation is also up there on my go-now-and-buy list! It apparently compares to high-end foundations (I wouldn't know because I don't buy those) but from what I hear it is a dupe for an expensive product. If you have normal to oily skin this may be your favourite product as it is SUPER MATTE. If you are like me and your skin is so dry from the winter climate you may feel like your face is cracking apart. However, if you moisturize well and use a hydrating primer this product is amazing! I made sure to moisturize and wore it for a full day and found it did not move an inch. I've often had to reapply my foundation before going out in the evenings or what not, this stuff does not move. It also does not sit in fine lines or wrinkles so another huge bonus for more mature skin types! I definitely encourage you to try this one out...just remember to keep hydrated! I am in colour 105 Natural Beige.

3) L'Oreal True Match Foundation

This is apparently an oldy but its a new one for me and it's fantastic! This foundation is a bit less thick full coverage feeling, so if you like the fuller coverage but like the feeling of not having makeup on your face, this may be a great one for you to try! It definitely covers up any spots or imperfections on the face but is less full coverage than the other two I've listed so far. It isn't as matte but isn't super dewy at the same time - definitely a much more natural finish! Perfect for everyday makeup! I am in colour Creamy Natural C3.

4) Maybelline Fit Me Hydrate and Smooth Foundation

This foundation has been my go-to foundation for the last few years. I thought that I had found the best drugstore foundation for me and a lot of reviews stated that this was unbeatable. Although it is no longer my favourite drugstore foundation, it is still a great product and it does make the top 5!  This foundation is medium coverage and is quite dewy which is great for dry skin ladies such as me! It looks quite natural and is super easy to apply and blend out!  Another pro is that it has a very natural finish and doesn't feel like you have any makeup on your face. All this said I will say this foundation is the least long-lasting of the bunch as I do have to reapply if I'm going out in the evening, even after setting it with setting powder. I still do love this foundation and will reach for it at least once or twice during the week! I am in colour 220.

5) Revlon Colour Stay Foundation

This is not my all time favourite but it is definitely a low-cost high coverage option that is matte and does not move! With my dry skin this foundation sits on my face and cracks after a full day use, but is great for an event or a few hours of photo shooting. It does have a unique smell however it fades after a few minutes! This foundation has been known to not give a glow when taking flash photography which is great, however this is not one I would suggest for a full days wear.

I hope this helps you out and encourages you to give a few of these a try! You can get some GREAT foundations at drug store price that are better than some of the high end foundations I have tried! If you love any of these, comment below and stay tuned for more of my makeup go-tos!
